In my day to day work of Wawa-news.com, I document many events that occur in the Wawa area. Some of them are tragic, treading a fine line between respect and covering the news. Others are great news, opening a store, new facility; or perhaps reminding us of the beautiful setting in which we live.

On June 17, 2005 a celebration was held to commemorate the opening of Migizi Suswin (Eagle’s Nest), a 10-unit complex overlooking Lake Superior, a new home to the Michipicoten First Nation Elders.
On July 1, 2017, the third Wawa Goose was unveiled at the Wawa Tourist Information Centre.
